Miles Taylor, the “Anonymous” hero, venerated by the media for claiming to be a part of the “Resistance” within the Trump administration, waited until 6 days before the polls close, or when more than one-third of all the ballots are likely cast, to come forward.
Taylor was granted the rare gift of anonymity to write an op-ed by the once-prestigious New York Times and was described by the publication as a “senior official.” In reality, he served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security.
The resistance hero waited until he secured a lucrative CNN contract and pro-Biden bona fides by taking time away from his gravy train gig at Google to cut ads declaring himself a Never Trump Republican. “Anonymous” also waited to defend the single most abhorrent policy of the Trump administration, family separation at the border, to comply with zero-tolerance illegal immigration in accordance with the Flores agreement.
The New York Times agreed not just to call Taylor a “senior official in the Trump administration” but also to grant him the anonymity to claim honor while smearing the president employing him. Thanks to the New York Times, Taylor got to have his cake and eat it too, sticking kids in cages like a true, self-described “lifelong Republican” while earning the plaudits of our media elites for reminding the paper of record that Orange Man Bad!
And then, knowing fully well that Taylor was crucial in helping then-DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen devise their “Protecting Children Narrative,” that is, their media spin on sticking kids in cages, both Google and CNN still hired and rehabilitated Taylor.
Taylor was an anonymous, pathetic little coward before, and in 15 minutes, he’ll go back to becoming an irrelevant, pathetic little coward. But his enablers will not. The New York Times opinion page will still grant anonymity to vile, child-abusing traitors. CNN and Google will still employ them. And perhaps most sadistically, the war-mongering cabal of professional “Never Trump” grifters will continue to assert without an ounce of irony that they’re moral paragons for opposing a president who doesn’t love forever wars while platforming the lackeys who enacted his most cruel policies.
No man in America is more of an egregious coward than Miles Taylor. His enablers come second, and they’re far more dangerous.
