Breaking: High school students like to cut class

News flash from Portland, Oregon: It turns out that kids like to cut class.

Even more if authority figures who are supposed to be looking out for their well-being turn a blind eye.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Hundreds of Portland students said they’re interested in joining a walkout in protest President Trump’s appointment of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education.

According to an event invitation on the Portland Student Action Network’s Facebook page, more than 300 students are planning to meet January 19 at Pioneer Courthouse Square. The walk-out is scheduled for the day before Trump’s inauguration … Hundreds of Portland Public Schools students walked out of class in November to protest Trump’s election. The students marched across the city alongside leaders of Portland’s Resistance, a group that staged several demonstrations in the wake of election night.

Imagine that — a bunch of high school kids spontaneously speak out and they just happen to repeat all of the talking points from their local teachers’ union officials!

Well, okay. I say go for it, but with one stipulation: Only the kids who can name the current secretary of education on the spot should be allowed to attend.
