Obama doesn’t need a budget to spend our money
Re: “Morning Examiner: Obama’s Defense sequester shenanigans,” Oct.25
When President Obama said during the third presidential debate that “sequestration won’t happen,” it raised questions about how he thinks the U.S. budget will be resolved with Congress before the end of the year.
Obama has not operated with a budget since he has been in office, so perhaps he sees no need to work with the legislature since he can apparently keep spending money wherever and however he chooses by presidential edict.

If Obama wins, states will have to fund abortions
Re: “Obama distorts facts to stir women voters’ fears,” Oct. 23
TheExamineris right that President Obama is not responsible for federal equal pay guarantees, which were created by the 1963 Equal Pay Act.
Lilly Ledbetter could have won her case under that law, even though she waited more than five years to sue after learning she was paid less. Instead, she bizarrely chose to rely on another law with a shorter deadline for suing. So her lawsuit got tossed out as untimely.
Obama signed a law changingthatdeadline, but it makes no difference for most women, who could already sue their employers under the EPA.
TheExamineris also correct that abortion won’t be banned no matter who wins the election. But if Obama wins, states will be forced to fund it.
In a 5-4 decision opposed by liberals, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states don’t have to fund abortion (Harris v. McRae). But that decision will be overruled if Obama gets to appoint more justices.

Hollywood’s support of Obama will be costly
President Obama has received much support and many millionsof dollars in donations from the entertainment industry.
But how many of his extremelywealthy supporters are completely on board with his plan to raise tax rates on their much higher incomes?
Arethey willing topay up?
