Who: The Washington Post
What: Putting a picture of Mexico’s flag on the front page above the fold yesterday.
Why it’s dim: Mexico is a fine country with a fine flag. There are 364 other days in a year when the Post could have put it on its front page. But yesterday was Flag Day — the day chosen by Congress for Americans to commemorate the adoption of the flag of the United States. There was no sign of the United States flag or Flag Day anywhere on the Post’s front page.
Cure: A healthy dose of baseball, hot dogs and apple pie for the Post’s editors.
