On Monday morning, protesters temporarily blocked access to one area of Disneyland. The Los Angeles Times’ Cindy Carcamo photographed the scene.

While the protesters were quickly removed by police, their behavior says much about some of the more idiotic elements of the pro-immigration protest movement. If one seeks to maximize public sympathy and attention in a positive light, surely shutting down one of the nation’s most iconic family theme parks is a bad idea.
Unless, that is, you are so self-absorbed by the presumed morality of your cause and so utterly disinterested in the happiness of others that you don’t care if families have their vacations ruined.
Now don’t get me wrong, I recognize that the pro-immigration movement has many different faces and many different agendas. I also believe our national policy should welcome a significant number of skilled immigrants who can benefit the economy, benefit themselves, and ensure that our population demographics remain balanced against an aging population. This latter point especially concerns millennials who will otherwise pay high taxes to fund the coming Medicare cost explosion.
Moreover, alongside border security funding, I would also support a fix that makes the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program permanent.
Still, there’s a special tediousness to those who would try and hold family fun hostage for the sake of their own political agenda. This takes on an even greater aggravating factor in the context that Disney visits don’t come cheap: Families save up for these vacations in the belief that they’ll be able to spend time together and go home happy.
Some DACA morons wanted to prevent that outcome today. And were it not for the fine work of Anaheim, Calif.’s police department, they might well have succeeded.
Shame on them.
