Exit poll: Majority of voters oppose border wall, support path to citizenship

A majority of voters oppose building a wall along the Mexican border, according to an exit poll conducted by ABC News.

About 54 percent of voters oppose building a wall along the Mexican border, while only 40 percent support a wall.

A vast majority of voters say undocumented immigrants should have a path to citizenship. About 71 percent of voters say as much, while 25 percent say undocumented immigrants should be deported.

The poll also found that roughly 9 percent of voters in the election were not born in the United States.

Of course, building a wall along the Mexican border has been a keystone promise of Donald Trump’s campaign for president.
