The Daily Outrage: It’s more like a pothole with bits of street in it.

WHO: RIDOT (Rhode Island Department of Transportation).

WHAT: RIDOT paid $1.99 million in federal stimulus money for botched road and sidewalk repair in Warren, Rhode Island.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The project will have to be torn up and done again. Inefficiency like this wastes billions of taxpayers’ dollars. “Here it is, 2010, and these roads look like it was the first road in the history of the United States,” Rick Lavey, a resident of Warren, told WPRI reporters.

WHERE TO VENT: Call the director of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation at 401-222-2481.
