Democrats love to cite opinion polls when trying to justify their political will. It’s a tactic they regularly use on various political issues to persuade people that their way of thinking is the correct way. It’s almost as if they believe opinion polls should dictate policy decisions. Keeping with those standards and logic, and based on recent surveys, the Left should support busing illegal immigrants to “sanctuary” cities controlled by Democrats.
Yet, there appeared to be an overall lack of enthusiasm on their end. Many denounced the issue and said it was immoral; others claimed it was racist and xenophobic. None, it seemed, embraced the move. It raises the question, why not?

A recent CBS-YouGov poll revealed that a slim majority of the country supported sending illegal immigrants to cities with Democratic government leadership, the Washington Examiner reported. Approximately 51% of respondents felt it was appropriate to transport illegal immigrants, compared to 49% who disapproved. Additionally, the same poll showed that 60% felt it was an “effective way to handle illegal immigration,” while 88% believed it “brought attention to the issue.”
But yet, for some reason, the Left rejected such a move. Julian Cyr, the Democratic state senator representing Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, claimed it was a “fundamentally racist tactic” to send illegal immigrants to different cities. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called the move “cruel.” President Joe Biden, a frequent proponent of touting opinion polls, called it a political stunt.

Like most of its public statements or actions, the Left’s response to sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities is another example of its hypocrisy — on multiple fronts. First, it shows Democrats only care about illegal immigrants when it is not their responsibility. Second, it shows they don’t care about democracy if they oppose the people’s will.
This ordeal is just the latest example of the Left’s manipulation of the public. It only cares about public opinion polls when it can weaponize the results for its own benefit. And, if there is no political benefit, liberals and Democrats truly don’t care about it at all — like everything else they claim to support. Their hypocrisy is despicable.
