Democrats finally found Wisconsin! 2020 DNC set for Milwaukee

Three years after forgetting that you have to win a Rust Belt state to win an electoral college, the Democratic National Committee has announced that their 2020 convention will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, narrowly beating out Miami’s bid.

Hardest hit: Hillary Clinton, who pivotally lost the state, along with Michigan and Pennsylvania, former Democratic strongholds making up the electoral bulwark of the “Blue Wall.”

The choice of Wisconsin’s biggest city isn’t just expedient as a referendum on Clinton, who failed to make a single stop there after the 2016 DNC. It’s also one of the state’s bluest regions and one hardest-hit by President Trump’s trade war. With no indication of the president backing down, the state could easily flip the 20,000 or so votes that earned Trump a few key electoral votes and erased Clinton’s last hopes.

Perhaps the choice is a sign from the top for Democrats to tone down their far-left lurch into “Green New Deals” and “Medicare for all.” After all, the state has safely and surely flipped from the Left to Right and back again over the past century. It is now about as ripe for the taking as any purple territory in the country.

But then again, Milwaukee’s one of the only major cities in the country to have elected three socialist mayors. So maybe the DNC is giving the AOC agenda the green light after all.
