The media are lying about Jacob Blake and Trump’s visit to Kenosha

That the media are so hellbent on turning Jacob Blake into yet one more example of “an unarmed black man shot by police,” a scenario that is exceedingly rare, before we even know what’s happening should be an immediate red flag that they’re attempting to manipulate us.

After President Trump’s visit Tuesday to Kenosha, Wisconsin, where Blake was shot in the back several times by police officers, all we’ve heard about is that Trump didn’t devote his trip to the incident, which is currently being investigated by both local and federal officials.

The New York Times: “Mr. Trump toured buildings that were damaged in street violence that followed the shooting of Mr. Blake and then met with law enforcement officials to advocate cracking down on demonstrations that get out of control. But he did not meet with Mr. Blake’s family.”

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski: “You would think he met with the family and local pastors and leaders and tried to unify at a time of such pain. … No mention of Jacob Blake?

Reuters: “Trump did not visit Jacob Blake.”

Associated Press: “He did not mention Jacob Blake.”

Okay, why, again, is it that we should expect to say anything or visit anyone connected to Blake? The man stands accused of violating a restraining order after sexually violating a woman, who says that he touched her genitals, put his fingers to his nose, and said, “Smells like you’ve been with other men,” according to the New York Post.

I wasn’t there and don’t know if it happened, but that’s why police were pursuing him, and video footage shows that he was noncompliant with the police when they attempted to arrest him. He instead ventured to his car, opened the door to do who knows what, and that’s when he was shot.

We don’t know if the shooting was justified, but until we do, what purpose would it serve to have the president pretend that Blake is worthy of nothing but sympathy?

It would please the media, but what if it turns out that Blake actually was a violent criminal ready to wield a knife, as has been suggested?

Trump used his time in Kenosha to tour areas that were devastated by destructive rioting and to meet with law enforcement, which has been undermined for months by both elected Democrats and liberals in the media.

That was apparently controversial.

Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC’s Morning Joe said Wednesday that Trump chose “to promote his campaign message of law and order” over meeting with Blake’s family, as though those are two things are equivalent and deserve at least the same amount of devotion.

On the one hand, “law and order” is supposed to be fundamental to democracy. On the other, we know almost nothing about Blake other than that he had a run-in with police and that he allegedly fondled a woman’s vagina without her consent and while her child slept next to her.

But Trump wouldn’t cry on TV about Jacob Blake!

Associated Press White House reporter Jonathan Lemire said, “There seems to be little effort here [by Trump] to do any sort of healing across the divide or addressing the underlying issues that led to this violence. … He mentioned, as we’ve said, Jacob Blake’s name not once.”

Say his name! He may have sexually violated a woman before calling her a promiscuous slut, but say his name!

We’re being misled, and we know that by how the media are lying about what happened in Kenosha.
