Who: Scott Eidelman, a psychologist at the University of Arkansas What: Conducted a “scientific study” that found conservatism is the result of low brain power or not thinking clearly. Among other findings: “Bar patrons reported more conservative attitudes as intoxication increased.”

Why it’s dim: On your fourth beer, you’ll suddenly find yourself wondering whether any government money went into this quack study.
