The McCloskeys are Trump’s key to reelection

It’s too late to swap out the Republican presidential nominee, but perhaps President Trump will listen a little bit more to the McCloskeys if he’s serious about winning a second term.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey were featured speakers at the first night of the Republican National Convention on Monday, and they said everything Trump should have been saying for the last two months.

“What you saw happen to us could just as easily happen to any of you,” said Patricia.

True. The McCloskeys fell into infamy in late May after a massive crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters busted through their gated, private community, causing an uproar and ready to do who knows what. The couple exited their home, guns drawn, and urged the mob to continue along, ensuring that their home was not a target for any of the vandalism, looting, and arson that has become exceedingly common in major cities where similar protests are taking place.

Mark and Patricia thereafter had their guns confiscated and are now being prosecuted by the local Democratic state’s attorney.

Mark said it beautifully in his remarks at the convention. He said that the protesters aren’t doing what they do in hopes of reforming the police or in the name of some ambiguous idea of “racial justice.”

“They want to walk the halls of Congress,” he said. “They want to take over. They want power. This is Joe Biden’s party.”

Trump should scrap “Make America Great Again” and replace it with “They want to take over. They want power. This is Joe Biden’s party.”

It says everything, and it’s 100% accurate. The rioting and unrest following the death of George Floyd may have started out as an earnest attempt at reforming policing, but it hasn’t been about that since at least mid-June. No, it is now exclusively about violently seizing power.

The McCloskeys know that. Everyone else needs to catch on.
