Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., soundly defeated his Democratic opponent, incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., adding a second Senate pickup for the GOP tonight.
Cotton, who will be the youngest U.S. senator at just 37-years-old, ran an extraordinarily aggressive campaign against Pryor, placing an extreme emphasis on tying the Democratic incumbent to President Obama, who polls very poorly in the Natural State.
And Cotton really hammered this point home, reminding voters at every turn that Pryor and Obama have an awful lot in common. Clearly, this strategy worked.
