Coronavirus hysteria has only gotten worse since the election

It was delusional for so many people to think that the pandemic hysteria, hyped up first and foremost by the national media, would go away after the election.

True, the round-the-clock coverage and hyperventilating on CNN and MSNBC were intended to damage President Trump politically and boost now-President-elect Joe Biden, but that wasn’t its only purpose. It’s intended to boost all Democrats and portray them as responsible, decisive leaders so that they retain and remain in power. With that power comes control, and there is nothing Democrats love more than exercising government control.

Why else are Democratic mayors, governors, senators, and representatives advocating for more lockdowns despite there being little evidence that they do anything more than delay the inevitable spread of the airborne coronavirus?

Democrats love telling people what to do. It makes them feel important. It makes them feel smart.

That’s what this is about. It’s the reason why New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the worst-performing coronavirus governor in America, is spun by other Democrats and the media as a hero. Meanwhile, every Republican who resists crippling restrictions on the economy is cast as irresponsible science-deniers.

Recall that we were told that a vaccine, any vaccine, would fix the problem. That was when health officials expected a viable vaccine to come with just a 50% effective rate. Now, two vaccines are on the horizon, both with a supposedly 90% effective rate, and the same people who told us to wait for it are now telling us that the news actually means we need to forego Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families.

Things never seem to get any better, even with the death rate plummeting as doctors have developed treatments that work on COVID-19 patients. No, it’s all still reminders to stay home and wear a mask.

Yes, the pandemic was politicized for election purposes. But Democrats know that its utility extends much further than that.
