Romney’s vow to repeal Obamacare hard to believe
Re: “How Romney can make 2012 like 1980,” March 19
I find it very interesting that Mitt Romney has pledged to repeal Obamacare if elected president even though it is a replica of Romneycare.
The former governor of Massachusetts has not renounced the Massachusetts Health Care Reform Law, which requires all adult residents age 18 and older to have health insurance. To meet the state’s requirements, the insurance must include certain basic benefits known as Minimum Creditable Coverage.
It makes me wonder if Romney is just making election promises to get votes. And I still don’t know if he wants to repeal all of Obamacare, or just part of it. Everyone knows that the Supreme Court will not completely replace Obamacare.

No voter ID inevitably leads to voter fraud
Re: “Requiring voter identification is essential to honest elections,” March 18
With apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning, how many times can I vote? Let me count the ways:
First, by going to the cemetery and choosing names from gravestones at random.
Second, by giving the name of someone who is registered to vote and claiming that I am that person.
Third, by actually voting under my own name.
Fourth, by using a fake name suggested by a political hack.
These only cover the obvious ways when positive identification is not required. Other Washington Examiner readers may suggest more.
“One person, many votes” should be a campaign slogan in the absence of a positive ID.

Liberal attack on Limbaugh is backfiring
Re: “So much hypocrisy in the Limbaugh-Fluke fight,” March 12
Gregory Kane brilliantly exposed the hypocrisy over Rush Limbaugh’s sexist remarks about Sandra Fluke. Kane laments that once again, the Left is giving liberal men who hate women a pass.
Too many liberals are only outraged over misogyny when conservative men do it. Hence, liberal feminist groups like NOW are not demanding that well-known chauvinist comedian Bill Maher be banned from the airwaves.
However, history is not repeating itself. We can give much thanks to the late Andrew Breitbart, who encouraged conservatives to fight back against liberal censorship and intimidation. So liberal personalities are now taking heat from conservatives for their own sexism.
Misogynist comedian Louis C.K. lost his gig at this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents’ Dinner after news anchor Greta Van Susteren noted how journalists could not condemn Limbaugh on one hand and honor C.K. on the other. The conservative ShePAC did one better by launching an ad imploring Barack Obama to live up to his chivalrous rhetoric by returning the donation he received from Maher. As yet,the White House has not responded to ShePAC’s request.
Hence, the narrative pushed by the Left and its media allies that conservatives have declared a “war on women” is backfiring. In a truly civilized and just society, misogyny should be rebuked no matter what a man’s race, religion, or political beliefs.
