Don’t let the Black Lives Matter organization ‘disappear’ its agenda

Everyone agrees that black lives matter. The organization that has claimed that phrase, however, is another matter.

The Black Lives Matter organization is made up of ideological extremists with goals that have little to do with fighting racial injustice or advocating for criminal justice reform. Some of these goals include eliminating the wage gap, fighting climate change, opposing Israel as an “apartheid state,” and until recently, disrupting “the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.”

Those objectives were quietly deleted from BLM’s website, according to users that made the discovery on Monday. Now, when you visit the BLM website, the page describing what the organization believes appears as a “401 error.”

Perhaps this erasure was a legitimate technological error. Or, more likely, maybe it has to do with the movement’s recent slip in support. A recent survey found that public approval of the BLM movement has declined significantly since June when the organization enjoyed a surge in support in the wake of George Floyd’s death. It seems many Americans realized that the riots destroying private businesses and federal property were indicative of a larger initiative that BLM has been pushing for years.

Which is why we cannot allow this historical revisionism to take place without consequence. The BLM organization’s original policy goals were destructive and dangerous to a healthy society, and it cannot be allowed to erase them now that it has lost favor.

The destruction of the nuclear family, specifically, is an insidious objective that reveals just how little the BLM organization cares about young black men and women. Researchers have well established that children of all races benefit when married parents are both present and active in the home. They are much less likely to experience physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Their behavior patterns are healthy, and they have greater educational achievement. They are also far less likely to fall into delinquency, poverty, and crime, according to a recent study conducted by Congress’s Joint Economic Committee.

At a time when black children are five times more likely than white children to be incarcerated, and when black students lag behind their white peers at an alarming rate, you’d think an organization that allegedly aims to lift up the African American community would support a family structure that can do just that. But in its effort to promote woke, leftist policies above all else, the BLM organization not only abandoned the nuclear family but threatened to destroy it.

Now BLM is trying to backtrack. Hopefully, they did so because the black community realized that an organization that rejects institutions paramount to opportunity and success is not an organization that represents their best interests.
