Rachel Levine, a lethally incompetent health official, now identifies as an admiral

Dr. Rachel Levine, the U.S. assistant secretary for health, was appointed as an admiral to the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, an agency of the government dedicated to public health. It has over 6,000 officers and 800 locations across the globe. That agency handles crisis response for the federal government in times of emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Its mission statement states a duty is to “protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of the nation.”

As an admiral, Levine is now the highest-ranking officer in the agency. However, it seems the main reason Levine was appointed was because of transgender propaganda — no actual public health need could justify the appointment of someone so incompetent who caused so many deaths in previous positions of public trust.

This is a political stunt by the Biden administration to normalize transgenderism. But promotions should be based on merit, not gender identity. It is hard to believe merit was the determining factor, especially given that Levine’s decisions as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health resulted in the deaths of hundreds of senior citizens.

Many critics would rush to label such a statement as transphobic (a completely made-up word), but just ask yourself, would you promote Andrew Cuomo to such a position after what he did to seniors in nursing homes? Of course not. So a straight white man who did what Levine did would not be promoted to this position.

Further, consider the statements in the media regarding Levine’s appointment. Levine’s education, background, and work experience are rarely mentioned. The emphasis is on being the “first openly transgender four-star officer.” At some point, Levine’s controversial tenure as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health should have at least been discussed publicly.

Broad +Liberty reported that Pennsylvania was the fifth-highest state for confirmed case fatality rate. It was the seventh-highest state for confirmed cases and the state with the fifth-highest total of deaths from COVID-19. These are not exactly statistics that should warrant a promotion. Levine has been a physician since 1993 and worked at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center — an impressive resume. Yet under Levine’s watch, Pennsylvania was among the worst states in the country for COVID-19 related deaths in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, Broad +Liberty reported. And it was Levine who made the disastrous decision to mandate that “nursing homes re-admit” COVID-19 patients. This warrants a promotion to admiral?

This was Levine’s protocol to “alleviate the increasing burden” of hospital rooms being overwhelmed with patients. This continued even after concerns were raised in a letter from members of Congress. The letter emphasized how Levine’s policies contributed to “at least 63% of statewide deaths” in Pennsylvania.

Broad +Liberty also reported that after mandating COVID-19 patients be readmitted to nursing homes, Levine went and removed her own mother, a 95-year old woman, from a nursing home to a luxury hotel.

And this is the person promoted to admiral?

Even Levine’s prediction of hospitals being overwhelmed never came to fruition — another point discussed in the letter from Congress. During a May 2020 meeting with state legislators, Levine revealed that only about 7% of Pennsylvania’s hospital beds were occupied by COVID-19 positive patients, Broad +Liberty reported. Levine’s directives turned out to be both deadly and unnecessary.

One would assume that during the greatest crisis of our time, one of the leaders on the “front lines of public health” should have an established successful track record of sound judgment and effective decision-making. Instead, under the Biden administration, all that matters is Levine’s gender self-identification. This is how much Biden cares about your health.

In an interview, Levine claimed that her position as an admiral was “not just symbolic.” In reality, it is precisely symbolic. If Levine had been evaluated based on merit and not being transgender, it’s safe to say that there would not have been such a promotion.
