San Francisco has boasted that it sends less trash to the landfill than any other major American city. That’s because they leave it on the streets.

In 2011, San Francisco hosted a mere 5,547 public poop incidents. In 2018, the city reported more than 28,000 public poops. That number’s slated to increase this year.
