Millionaire Pelosi is out to destroy the struggling salon owner who exposed her hypocrisy

Born to a Democratic congressman who became mayor of Baltimore and a Democratic luminary and fundraiser, Speaker Nancy Pelosi was born on third base. She benefited not only from wealth but from political privilege. She attended President John F. Kennedy’s inauguration and gained a cadre of famous friends from her brother, also later a mayor of Baltimore, and her millionaire husband.

Pelosi is now speaker of the House. She lives in the wealthiest neighborhood in the nation and has an estimated net worth of $114 million.

So, it would be disgusting enough to see her attack and attempt to destroy a struggling single mother’s business, even if the economy were booming. But Pelosi is now doing just that amid a global pandemic and endless rioting that have destroyed more than 10 million jobs and countless businesses.

After months of advocating for economically devastating lockdowns and after expressly blaming coronavirus cases on President Trump and his eagerness to reopen the economy, the California congresswoman was caught on leaked security footage gallivanting around a San Francisco hair salon without so much as a mask on her face. She was there getting a blowout in violation of local ordinances.

Rather than simply apologize for her transgression (or even apologize for getting caught because that’s what it would be) and let the media move on, Pelosi and her fancy family have decided to go all-in and destroy the salon owner who exposed her.

Pelosi didn’t just claim that salon owner Erica Kious, a single mother whose business has struggled under California’s draconian lockdown, deliberately set her up, an implausible claim, since it’s unclear how Kious could have made Pelosi not wear a mask. Now, Pelosi’s daughter, Christine, has released a letter from a lawyer representing the independent stylist who gave Pelosi the blowout at Kious’s facility, charging Kious with “furthering a set-up of Speaker Pelosi” by authorizing the appointment and then releasing the footage.

For her part, Kious vehemently denied the allegation, claiming that she’s had a security camera system in her salon for the past five years. She claims she only released the footage after seeing the hypocrisy of Pelosi unnecessarily refusing to wear a mask.

“This isn’t even political,” Kious told Tucker Carlson. “It’s the fact that she actually came in, didn’t have a mask on, and I just thought about my staff and people not being able to work and make money and provide for their families, and if she is in there comfortably without a mask and feeling safe, then why are we shut down? Why am I not able to have clients come in?”

Pelosi has evidently decided that it’s a good and ethical use of her time and political clout to smear a single mom and encourage the mob to destroy her career and already economically stunted salon. Already, Kious’s social media pages have been inundated with Pelosi-supporting trolls giving negative ratings. Kious claims that she has also received death threats.

I would call this some Marie Antoinette-style villainy, perhaps an injustice to the late French queen, who, unlike Pelosi, was unjustly maligned for being out-of-touch. Twelve million people have lost their jobs, and the Pelosi lockdowns have resulted in countless others succumbing to domestic violence, mental illness, and addiction. But her priority isn’t reopening the country and getting assistance to the businesses wrecked by the Democratic lockdowns but rather to destroy the life of the one plebeian who had the audacity to call her out for hypocrisy. The devil may not wear Prada, but she does wear Max Mara.
