Biden is readying to embark on a lot of nonessential travel despite his own CDC guidelines

The Biden-Harris administration is apparently in need of a reminder that now is the time to mask up, folks, because the pandemic is not over, folks, and, folks, this is a time of testing.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that President Biden is about to embark on an “aggressive campaign” to brag about the $2 trillion welfare package (sometimes referred to as a “COVID relief bill”) that Democrats just passed and Biden is about to sign.

Included in the campaign will be “travel by the president and Vice President Kamala Harris across multiple states, events with a wide range of cabinet members emphasizing themes of the legislation and endorsements from Republican mayors,” the New York Times said.

Since when did campaigning for a bill that will have already been signed into law by Friday become “essential travel”?

Recall that during his most recent campaign, Biden was rarely seen above ground. He opted instead to do all of his appearances from his home’s basement in Delaware.

Have the coronavirus and all of its related risks suddenly vanished with the passage of the new relief bill? No, to the contrary, as of this writing, the United States is averaging nearly 60,000 new infections each day.

Since Inauguration Day, when the Biden-Harris administration was sworn in, there have been close to 150,000 new virus-related deaths. And as Biden launches his “aggressive campaign,” his Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that everyone should avoid travel. I checked the website, and, believe it or not, there’s no exception for elected officials who want to engage in politics, let alone when the next election is more than a year away.

And of course, Biden, White House staff, Cabinet officials, and all of the security that goes with it will be traveling, putting others at risk, for political reasons. As the New York Times said, the campaign is “an attempt to ensure that [Biden] and his fellow Democrats get full political credit for the first big victory of his administration.”

You were told not to go see your loved ones for the holidays because it was dangerous. So what about Biden and his self-promotion tour? He and his entourage seem to do whatever they want. They’re special.

Making it all the more laughable is a story in the New York Times on Thursday about the White House goodie-goodies who are working remotely, sometimes hundreds of miles from Washington, D.C., because of the “strict coronavirus protocols instituted to reduce the number of people in the building with the president.”

See how serious Biden is about the virus? He makes people work from home! Meanwhile, he’s about to jet across the country with a large entourage to give talks about how wonderful his “relief” bill is.

Remember that, folks, the next time Biden tells you, folks, what’s best for you. Folks.
