The New York Times editorial board is eager to spread the coronavirus via open borders

Because the national media see every single thing through a warped lens of privilege and victimhood, it’s only natural that the New York Times editorial board would claim that illegal immigrants are unique sufferers of the coronavirus pandemic.

And of course, it’s President Trump’s fault because he’s apparently the only one who doesn’t like the idea of hundreds of thousands of poor and sick foreigners flooding into the country unaccounted for.

“Rounding up undocumented immigrants and shutting down the border is something President Trump has yearned to do since long before the coronavirus began its fateful spread,” moaned the Times. “And his animosity toward undocumented immigrants is affecting the efforts to contain the coronavirus far beyond the border.”

The word “animosity” is defined here as: Any enforcement of our laws and any policy directive meant to prevent people dumping themselves into the care of the American taxpayer. Unless we foot the bill to clothe, house, and feed every illegal immigrant who makes their way onto U.S. soil and claims asylum, we are victimizing them.

The Times continued, “Those who are not documented are afraid that going to a public health facility will expose them to ICE agents … These immigrants are particularly at the mercy of the pandemic. They often live in crowded conditions, have little money and no paid sick leave, and so lack the ability to self-quarantine.”

This is supposed to be an argument against cracking down on the gaping hole in the United States known as the southern border when it’s actually the opposite. If we weren’t equipped to handle coronavirus outbreak testing and treatment for everyone here legally, both citizens and temporary residents from abroad, why would we have ever thought it acceptable to put ourselves at even greater risk by throwing the doors open to anyone and everyone else?

Thank the New York Times, the rest of the national media, and every single Democrat who ran for president this year for that bright idea. Oh, and every federal judge who hamstrung each attempt by the administration to close the holes in our immigration system, effectively turning our border into a welcome mat for the world’s destitute.

Now we’re all getting sick, and the Times wants still more people to be made comfortable coming into the U.S., where they will inevitably consume yet more of our already depleted medical resources. I can’t wait. Thanks, New York Times!
