With the shock victory of 28-year-old socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley — an entrenched liberal who hoped to replace House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., as party leader or even as House speaker some day — Democrats have officially lost control of their own party.
The politically-correct pampering of millennials — everyone gets a trophy, strikes can never be called, laughable “micro-aggressions” are a real thing and must be acknowledged and punished — is finally making itself felt in the political arena, and it’s officially driving the Democratic Party to Crazytown.
Like 28-year-old entrenched-liberal-giant-killer Ocasio-Cortez, there are now millions of spoiled, ignorant, “It is all-about-me” Millennial brats out there who not only embraced the socialist battle cry of “Free is for me,” but will now work to crush anyone standing in the way of that ultimately suicidal policy.
With the staggering primary victory of Ocasio-Cortez over party boss Crowley, the winning electoral template for the socialist-left has now been stamped, certified, and will soon be put into action across the country.
Ocasio-Cortez won by preaching free education for all, universal healthcare, the abolition of immigration enforcement, open borders, the end of capitalism, the redistribution of all wealth, the eradication of “hierarchal systems,” liberal drug policies, and forcing business owners to give control of their companies to the “workers.”
It must be stressed that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America, the same group that recently surrounded Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen in a restaurant and forced her — and her security detail — to flee.
This would be the exact same Democratic Socialists of America, which believes the far-left is not nearly radical enough in its anarchistic behavior. Just as President Trump upended the Republican Party while shocking the world, Ocasio-Cortez is about to do the same to the Democrats and their various power-centers.
As she just triumphantly declared regarding the message of her victory: “This is not the end. This is the beginning.” Whether or not the entrenched establishment of either party can stand it or truly believe it, the teams have been picked, and it is time to choose sides.
On the Right side, we have “Trumpism.” It has become the vessel of traditional common sense. It still espouses old-fashioned ideas, such as that people should have to work to pay their bills; that a sovereign nation must have borders; that socialism failed, whereas capitalism constantly lifts people out of poverty; that the military and police are the true heroes of our nation who protect us all; that smaller government and lower taxes are better; that it is okay to believe America is and should be the greatest nation on Earth.
On the Left, we have the rapidly emerging socialists and their anarchist allies. They want to abolish borders, nationhood, private ownership of business, police and prisons, and the rule of law. Their aim is to turn back the clock and revive an economic system for whom Venezuela is only the latest of many, many victims.
Two political earthquakes have dramatically reshaped the political reality of our nation. You can’t stay neutral. You need to pick a side.
