Andrew Yang is the most likable candidate in the 2020 presidential race, and (not that it matters) he also has the best celebrity endorsements. The best thing about Yang, though, is that he’s willing to admit what every other Democrat has too large an ego to say.
After the disaster that was the Iowa caucuses earlier this week, Democratic leaders scrambled to straighten out the results that they had botched so badly. Bernie Sanders fans were furious with the handling of the situation, but it appears that no Democrat was willing to say what this failure of the Democratic Party actually meant.
Except for Yang.
At a town hall in New Hampshire on Wednesday, a CNN anchor pointed to Yang’s signature “math” pin and jokingly asked if he’d offered some math help to the Democrats in Iowa.
“Oh my gosh,” Yang responded. “One reason I am pumped to be here in New Hampshire is you all are gonna vote Feb. 11, and you know when we’re gonna find out the results? Feb. 11!”
After laughter and applause from the audience, Yang explained what the Iowa debacle will mean for voters. He continued:
The plus side of Andrew Yang’s long-shot campaign is that he can go ahead and admit what other Democrats are too afraid to say. If we can’t expect politicians to do something as simple as accurately count votes, how can we trust them with more government control?
