Dim Bulb – Sept. 23, 2008

Who: Ali Ashgar Soltanieh, chief Iranian delegate to the International Atomic Energy Agency

What: Soltanieh rejected suggestions that Iran was developing nuclear weapons, even though IAEA head Mohamed ElBaradei warned that because of Iran’s refusal to allow the international community to inspect its uranium enrichment program, he cannot guarantee that Tehran is not building nuclear weapons.

Why it’s dim: Former UN weapons inspector David Albright says that Teheran could develop a crude nuclear bomb during the next six months.

Cure: Time to really get tough with Iran.
