Heritage Action will score support/opposition for Ex-Im, even with no vote

A lot of Republican congressmen are probably relieved that there may not be a floor vote on reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. A vote on Ex-Im would a GOP member to upset either K Street or the conservative base.

But Heritage Action doesn’t want any members to get a free ride. The group will announce later today it is scoring congressmen’s stated position on the bill: If a member publicly comes out against reauthorization, he or she gets credit. If not, he or she gets dinged.

Here’s Heritage’s list of Ex-Im’s public supporters, who are sticking out their neck against corporate welfare.

“Lawmakers publicly opposed to this slush fund for corporate welfare deserve credit for fighting to take back America from the well-connected special interests that are empowered by silence and shady backroom deals,” Mike Needham, CEO of Heritage action says.
