Palestinian activist laments not being able to ‘hijack planes’ or ‘throw Molotovs’

When the terrorist group Hamas launched an unprovoked attack and preemptive strike against Israel on Oct. 7, many people were in shock and horror. Israel’s response has also created anger and resentment among Palestinian supporters. The conflict has stoked many emotions on both sides of the political spectrum. Yet, up until recently, no one was lamenting an inability to engage in terrorism — that is, until a recent social media post by Mohammed el Kurd.

Kurd is “an internationally touring and award-winning poet, writer, journalist, and organizer from Jerusalem, occupied Palestine,” according to his webpage. And, according to his site, he was apparently named “one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine” in 2021. Given the publication’s history of naming genocidal psychopaths as “People of the Year,” as Time chose Adolf Hitler as its “Man of the Year” in 1938, it shouldn’t be surprising that Kurd was listed. Still, after the activist’s recent post on X, one does wonder if Time would want to rescind such a distinction.

“You can’t protest peacefully. You can’t boycott. You can’t hunger strike. You can’t hijack planes,” Kurd posted. “You can’t block traffic. You can’t throw Molotovs. You can’t self-immolate. You can’t heckle politicians. You can’t march. You can’t riot. You can’t dissent. You just can’t be.”

This post should raise red flags for everyone around the world, regardless of whom one supports in the Israel-Hamas conflict. It’s one thing to condemn Israel or Hamas or any government or entity involved. It’s another thing entirely to bemoan not being able to hijack planes or throw Molotov cocktails. Those are violent acts of terrorism. Kurd essentially confessed to being upset that he couldn’t murder people.

Furthermore, had this been a white, Christian male who posted this on social media, all hell would have broken loose. It would have been considered an example of the rise of “Christian nationalism” or “white supremacy” or any other label that seems to deflect from the reality of the groups of people committing horrific violent and terrorist acts around the world. His account would have been suspended, and he would have been demonized and vilified in news outlets across the globe. But because it was a Muslim activist who said it, Kurd’s comments received little attention, criticism, and condemnation.

It’s the latest reflection of just how dishonest and disingenuous left-wing political narratives genuinely are. People like Kurd are honored by highly esteemed, reputable journalist publications. Supporting, advocating, or even sulking that someone cannot “hijack planes” is indicative of pure evil. It should be acknowledged as such, and anyone refusing or hesitant to do so should be rightfully deemed as a radical sympathizer.

These are not normal, sane, or rational people. They are extremists of the most violent nature. It’s indicative of their dangerously radical beliefs. There is right and there is wrong, and lamenting on social media an inability to commit terrorist acts is wrong. This is true of anyone, regardless of his or her political ideals or beliefs.
