Stacey Abrams bestowed with a lot of ‘power’ by puff piece Washington Post profile

For anyone confused about why the national media is shoving Stacey Abrams down your throat, take comfort in at least knowing that you’re not alone. We’re all in this together.

Over the weekend, Washington Post magazine published a profile on the former Georgia state-level legislator that was impressively long, considering Abrams’s most notable achievement to date is whining her way to the final stretch in Joe Biden’s search for a running mate.

The article, written by Democratic activist Kevin Powell, devotes more than 5,000 words to explaining what makes Abrams so remarkable, which is more or less answered with — because she’s remarkable!

The very title of the piece, “The Power of Stacey Abrams,” asserts something that is never explained. What’s her power? Powell never says.

He describes her as a new “national leader and power broker for democracy.” How so? He doesn’t say.

He says that since her defeat in the 2018 race for Georgia governor, she has spent the time “leveraging the power she gained and deciding how she wants to use it.” What power? Powell doesn’t say.

Abrams’s supposed influence and status is apparently something she earns simply by existing. Powell suggests that no matter what happens for Abrams, she wins.

“Even if she’s not chosen [as Biden’s running mate], it seems that her place in the vice presidential conversation only strengthens her political future,” he wrote. “If, for example, she was to challenge [Georgia Gov. Brian] Kemp to a rematch in 2022 or run for president in 2024, she’d only have more power.”

More power!

For readers who weren’t quite getting the message through the mind-numbing repetition, the article literally featured a photograph of Abrams wearing a cape.

Where does Abrams get her power from? It comes from the media insisting she has power.
