Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) won the Republican primary for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District on Tuesday night. It was a resounding victory for the GOP firebrand, especially after numerous reports that her reelection was not a sure thing and she faced a tough primary. Ultimately, she received more votes than the next three closest candidates — combined.
Boebert, the representative from Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, will be the Republican nominee for the state’s 4th District in November. She will be vying for the seat previously held by former Rep. Ken Buck, who retired earlier this year. She is widely expected to win his seat as the district is regarded as a Republican stronghold. Boebert almost had as many votes in the primary as each of the candidates in the Democratic primary combined.
