Democrats are still completely lost on what to do with President Joe Biden’s flailing campaign, meaning Biden may run out the clock on the idea that he can be replaced before the 2024 election.

The Democratic National Committee has been planning on fast-tracking Biden’s nomination to keep Democrats in line after Biden’s disastrous debate performance. House Democrats began circulating a letter opposing this plan. The DNC then punted the process back to the first week of August, which apparently satisfied House Democrats enough to drop the letter. The DNC, where Biden would otherwise be nominated, is on Aug. 19.
