Vice President Kamala Harris is continuing to hide from the media to avoid her inevitable blunders, knowing full well that “journalists” will do all the work defending and promoting her.
The latest example of this comes from ABC News, on which Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) correctly noted that Harris wants to eliminate private health insurance. ABC’s Jonathan Karl then dutifully filled the network’s role as an unofficial Harris surrogate outlet by claiming that Harris has disavowed that when she has not. As she has with fracking, mandatory gun “buybacks,” and several other issues from the 2020 campaign, Harris has reversed course only through statements from her campaign to media outlets. She hasn’t spoken about any of this or had to answer questions about her reversals.
