I‘m not a historian, but I have to imagine Anthony Scaramucci’s decision to drop six F-bombs and three uses of the word “cock” in a single interview on Tuesday constitutes some sort of record. Three f-bombs and two “cocks” may have a precedent somewhere in the annals of political interview history, but nine total uses from a White House communications director has to be another first from the Trump administration.
The former businessman called his colleague Reince Priebus, a “fucking paranoid schizophrenic” and accused him of “[cock-blocking]” his colleagues by strategically leaking stories from the White House.
“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he added later in the interview, which Scaramucci reportedly initiated with an angry phone call to Ryan Lizza of the New Yorker.
The story reads more like a George Carlin routine than a political interview.
If Democrats, who are increasingly peppering their rhetoric with cuss words to appeal to disinterested voters, are looking to see how that strategy will play with the public, they might want to pay close attention to the reaction this interview gets. Since nothing matters anymore, it’s entirely possible the Mooch’s language will only endear him to people outside Washington.
Who knows?
