PHILADELPHIA — In the corridor of the Wells Fargo Center, I just had a brief conversation with former Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass. Here’s the full transcript:
Congressman, Tim Carney, Washington Examiner. I wanna ask you a question.
FRANK: “No, I don’t like to talk to you guys.”
I remembered I admired that when you were chairman of the Financial Services Committee, you prohibited former staff who had gone to places like Goldman Sachs —
“Right.”
— from lobbying your staff.
“Right.”
Do you you think the revolving door continues to be a problem in Washington?
“Not as much as people think. But I did what I could.”
Timothy P. Carney, The Washington Examiner’s senior political columnist, can be contacted at [email protected]. His column appears Tuesday and Thursday nights on washingtonexaminer.com.
