The Left has now revolted against none other than former first daughter Chelsea Clinton. She is no longer sufficiently woke for the anti-Semites slowly but surely conquering the Democratic Party. Two left-wing activists pounced on Clinton at a New York University vigil for the 49 slain Muslims from Christchurch, New Zealand, filming and harassing Clinton for her earlier critique of anti-Semitic statements by Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.
“After all that you have done, all the Islamophobia that you have stoked,” NYU student Leen Dweik yelled at Clinton in a video filmed by her friend Rose Asaf. “This right here is the result of a massacre stoked by people like you and the words you have put out in the world … The 49 people died because of the rhetoric you put out there.”
Asaf posted the video of Clinton, visibly pregnant and exceptionally calm, on Twitter, using the confrontation to shill the public for Venmo payments.

Predictably, the move backfired, with everyone half an inch to the right of Sen. Elizabeth Warren united in their condemnation of the stunt and their defense of Clinton. Not only was the critique of Clinton unwarranted, but the time and place couldn’t have been more disrespectful to the actual victims of the white supremacist attack.
Dweik and Asaf didn’t just attack the mother of Jewish children for rightly calling out a sitting United States congresswoman for repeatedly and unapologetically promulgating anti-Semitic stereotypes. They did so by hijacking a sacred vigil. Given the Venmo pleas, Dweik and Asaf made themselves clear: political expedience was worth using the blood of slain bodies not yet interred in the ground.
The duo found their obvious defenders in the Democratic Socialists of America Left and their media agents.
It’s a causal fallacy to say Chelsea Clinton bears literal responsibility for the NZ massacre. She doesn’t. She does however bear responsibility for sparking a horrendously toxic smear campaign against a female Muslim member of Congress who did nothing wrong. So, there’s that

chelsea clinton’s white tears are dangerous.
this activist is being harassed by @/yashar’s followers for feeling rightfully angry at white ppl taking up space at a vigil. https://t.co/jJfLFymBqo

Obviously, those young activists’ point wasn’t that Chelsea was literally the cause of the massacre, but that her families’ vehement pro-Israel politics, along with the role she bizarrely played in attacking Omar, made her a bad choice. In her own words: https://t.co/Cb1QMKTGai

BuzzFeed News gave Dweik and Asaf an uncontested platform to defend themselves.
“We need people to understand that you cannot be racist against Palestinians, and vilify people who promote their cause, while also being in solidarity with Muslims,” wrote the pair. “To Chelsea Clinton: We hope that our intentions in confronting you are now clear. We believe that you still owe an apology: not only to Rep. Omar, but also to Palestinians for using your platform to defame their cause.”
Yes, if you could follow that, they’re justifying calling Clinton a bigot because she called out a congresswoman’s bigotry.
Perhaps this could be chalked up to typical college-age immaturity — though Democrats would have us decrease the voting age to those four years younger than Asaf and Dweik. It could have been an honest expression of catharsis, not a calculated push to punish Jewish allies and normalize anti-Semitism while making a quick buck.
But luckily for Dweik, a picture’s worth a thousand words. And screenshots are forever.

P.s this is the person who attacked Chelsea Clinton for calling out Rep Omar’s antisemitism. You can see why @vivafalastin wasn’t happy about someone opposing all forms of bigotry. pic.twitter.com/j7xLYaKzLM

The roots of Dweik’s anti-Semitism, as well as her generous use of anti-gay slurs and arguably racism, run deep.
This is no yearbook from the 80s, nor does it consist of off-color tweets from a decade ago. No, Dweik engaged in casual bigotry as recently as 2013 as openly called for the extermination of Israel this month. This is no matter of critiquing lobbyists’ influence over politics. It’s a call to genocide, plain and simple.
Journalists have a duty to cover this story, and part of that includes Dweik’s and Asaf’s side of the story. But to allow them an uncontested platform where they scapegoat “valid criticisms of Israel and its lobby” rather than face actual questions about Dweik’s explicit anti-Semitism isn’t just an abdication of that responsibility. It’s complicity in the millennia-old push to eliminate the Jewish people from the planet.
