The University System of Maryland Board of Regents decided Friday to support bringing slots to the state. The board said it needs slot money to offset the impact of a sliding economy on its schools. Who can argue with that? With such huge budget deficits in the state, the money has to come from somewhere, and slots could bring in $250 million annually that now probably is going to surrounding states.
