I am saddened that United Airlines, last weekend, refused to allow a passenger to take her peacock onto one of its planes.
Saddened, because the peacock-individual should have been put in the cargo hold with her bird. There, she and the bird could have frozen to death.
OK, I’m kidding, but still, what kind of idiot thinks it’s OK to take a peacock onto a passenger aircraft? A rude, inconsiderate and exceptionally tedious idiot, that’s who.
Just look at the video below, which shows the passenger arriving at Newark airport. Note that the lady could not even control the bird as she entered the terminal! So how was she going to control the large bird at 35,000 feet?
Yes, we’re told the passenger offered to buy a ticket for the bird, but that says far worse about her than it does good. After all, it shows the passenger had not bought a ticket for the bird in the first place! Presumably, she was hoping she might be able to slip on the plane and have some poor passenger next to her deal with the peacock’s inevitable movement/defecation/squawking.
As I say, this person is almost as stupid as those individuals who thought it would be funny to play an IED prank at Newark. At least she was denied boarding and told to go away rather than compensated or deferred to. A small victory for common sense, but a victory nonetheless.
