For a political party that was so adamant about the importance of truth when Donald Trump was president, Democrats seem to have no problem spreading misinformation when it comes to advancing their political careers.
That’s the tactic John Fetterman, the Democratic nominee in Pennsylvania’s Senate race, used in a recent campaign video to defend his dangerous record of keeping criminals on the streets instead of in jail.

In an absolutely despicable ad rife with misinformation, Fetterman enlisted Montgomery County Sheriff Sean Kilkenny to deceive people into thinking Fetterman isn’t as bad as his record shows.
“I’m a county sheriff [and] veteran in Pennsylvania,” Kilkenny stated in the ad. “I’m sick of Oz talking about John Fetterman and crime. Here’s the truth. John gave a second chance to those who deserve it: nonviolent offenders, marijuana users.”
PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER BLAMES BULLETS, NOT CRIMINALS, FOR MURDER
But the facts show Kilkenny is not telling the truth. While in office, Fetterman diligently worked to take murderers out of jail and put them on the street, where they could continue to harm people. His leniency goes well beyond what Kilkenny claimed.
Consider just some of the actions Fetterman took during his political career.
First, Fetterman recommended to Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf that numerous convicted murderers have their prison terms commuted. Next, in another example of Fetterman’s work to free criminals, in December 2021, as chairman of the Board of Pardons, Fetterman wanted to release Alexis Rodriguez, a man serving a life sentence for murdering a teenager. He was the only person on the board who voted to do so.
It shows just how radical and dangerous Fetterman truly is regarding crime.
Furthermore, it should be noted that Fetterman’s vote to release Rodriguez was supported by none other than Larry Krasner, Philadelphia’s useless left-wing district attorney. Krasner’s lenient policies have contributed to the city suffering from more murders and violent crime than ever before.
Simply put, Sheriff Kilkenny lied. These criminals clearly go beyond “nonviolent offenders and marijuana users,” as he claimed. And, given the rapid increase in violent crime today, the fact that an actual high-ranking law enforcement officer would sell out like this is shameful. Releasing more criminals on the street endangers the lives of police officers everywhere. For an active sheriff from one of the state’s wealthiest counties to mislead the public in this way is despicable.
Democrats and other leftists know how horrific Fetterman is on crime. That’s why they need a sheriff to spread disinformation about his record. If the truth about Fetterman’s desire to create a criminal utopia becomes more widely known, then only the most unhinged leftists would continue to support him.
