WHO: U.S. Department of Agriculture
WHAT: With the support of Connecticut Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd, and Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman, USDA allocated $54 million to the Mohegan Indian tribe of Connecticut through a program designed to help small communities that are “unable to obtain other credit at reasonable rates and are unable to finance the proposed project from their own resources.”
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The tribe’s Mohegan Sun casino grossed $1.3 billion in 2009. Remind us why they need federal assistance?
WHERE TO VENT: Call Julie Hetrick in USDA’s Office of Budget and Program Analysis at 202- 720-1269.
