The United Kingdom’s new policy of boycotting Israeli goods is not only discriminatory; it is disastrous. It will increase antisemitism, strain relations with an important ally, and do nothing to address the myriad problems plaguing the country today.
On Sept. 8, British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband gave a lengthy speech before Parliament calling for a “reset” in relations between the United Kingdom and Israel. The speech was as disgraceful as it was disingenuous.
