If Trump is a dictator, how did Democrats win control of Congress?

Nazi! Fascist! Dictator! Authoritarian! King!

Those were just some of the many, many insults that liberals, Democrats, socialists, and communists hurled at President Donald Trump over the years. And they’ve been doing it for nearly 10 years. Yet, here we are in 2026, and the Fourth Reich has not been established. No monarchy was ushered in. No political rivals or opponents have been suppressed or jailed by the Trump administration. Furthermore, if one needed any further proof that those accusations were bogus, nonsensical, and the words of a group of people with a cult-like devotion to opposing Trump, the Democrats handily defeated Republicans in the midterm elections on Tuesday.
