Wisconsin: James Bryce, a policeman, explains in a new ad why he’s voting against his own brother for Congress

What the hell is going on in Wisconsin? All politics is local, but up there, it seems like they have become personal as well. A new ad cut by Paul Ryan-aligned super PAC, Congressional Leadership Fund, features James Bryce, brother of progressive poster boy Randy Bryce.

It is always ugly when siblings squabble, and Bryce-the-cop gives Bryce-the-candidate an absolutely crippling gut punch and then a couple more haymakers in the ad. It is a family feud, and it is not pretty:

The ad itself isn’t inaccurate. What is so interesting, though, is that this isn’t the first time Wisconsin families have fought in prime time this cycle.

Maybe it is something in the water, because earlier this year, Republican Senate hopeful Kevin Nicholson was forced to explain why his own parents chose to donate to the Democrat he wanted to face off against, incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin. Suddenly, the once-rising Republican star had to explain why his own mom and dad didn’t think that he should get a job in the Senate.

Nicholson lost the primary to Republican state Sen. Leah Vukmir. That would have saved us from this awkward family-political spectacle, if not for the Bryce brothers’ animosity.
