Democrats are making threats over the Mueller report; the White House should tell them to get lost

Republicans and the Trump administration have for two years given in to every single demand by Democrats. And now, continuing in bad faith, Democrats are insisting that they will accept nothing less than the full, raw report by special counsel Robert Mueller.

If there were ever a time to tell Democrats to go get wrecked, it’s on this.

A Washington Post report on Wednesday bizarrely granted anonymity to a “House staffer” to threaten the administration with — shock! — extreme political rhetoric if the Justice Department doesn’t provide Congress with an unedited copy of Mueller’s report. They want to see all of the evidence he collected for the indictments he issued. None of which, by the way, had anything to do with collusion or obstruction by Trump.

“If he does not include grand jury information in the summary or report or redacted report or whatever he gives to Congress, that amounts to a cover-up,” said belligerent anonymous House staffer. “We do not want anything in the words of the attorney general. We want to see Robert Mueller’s words.”

This is no different than what Democrats have been doing all along. They demand some drawn out process, whether it’s the Mueller investigation or the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, so that they can dredge up a billion more reasons to throw mud at the White House. And then, when they don’t like the result, they demand more.

They demanded James Comey be fired, then when Trump fired him, they rejected the reason and turned the whole thing into a new controversy. They demanded the FBI investigate Kavanaugh, and then they rejected its findings. They’re now rejecting the conclusions of the Mueller report as summarized by Attorney General William Barr. And if Mueller’s report ever came out in full, they still would not be satisfied and they’d probably lie about what’s in it anyway.

Democrats constantly argue in bad faith with this White House and revel in the fact that the national media won’t call them on it. Why else would a “House staffer” (the worst, most lowly job on the Hill) feel confident in anonymously telling reports that the White House better do as he says, or else?

If that’s their position, the Justice Department shouldn’t bother releasing more of the Mueller report at all. Democrats have more demands. So what? Accepting their demands has never made a difference before.
