CLEVELAND — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani got some of the loudest cheers at the opening night of the Republican convention with an emphatic speech touching on violence against police, terrorism and Benghazi.
“We say thank you to the Cleveland Police Department for protecting us,” Giuliani said, prompting the first of several standing ovations during his speech. The ovations included audience chants of “Ru-dy! Ru-dy!”
