Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump read directly from a Washington Examiner story Wednesday during a campaign rally in Anaheim, Calif.
“I have all these statistics, look at this statistic, look at this,” Trump said, “‘Illegal immigrants get $1,261,’ this is from a newspaper. Should I tell you which one? What difference? They’re numbers. ‘Illegal immigrants get $1,261 more welfare than American families.'” Trump paused to let the crowd boo. “It’s $5,692 vs. $4,431. How stupid are we? How stupid are we?”
