WHO: Town of Hillsborough, N.H.
WHAT: It blew $150,000 in federal stimulus money resurfacing a historic stone bridge in HIllsborough.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The bridge doesn’t cross the Contoocook River, yet it received the funds at the expense of hundreds of real New Hampshire bridges that are deemed unsafe. Moreover, the bridge segment is surrounded by car dealerships, strip malls and a bridge actually in use, so that it offers little or no scenic value.
WHERE TO VENT: Call Hillsborough Administrator John Stetser at 603-464-3877.
