WHO: ComLinks, Franklin County, New York’s community action agency
WHAT: The agency’s former CEO, Nancy Reich, misused approximately $100,000 in state and federal funds. The money bought wine, flowers, home appliances, massages and golf club memberships.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: Two of ComLinks’s major duties are to intervene in situations of domestic violence and to fund low-income housing. Reich diverted funding from these critical-need areas to finance a luxurious lifestyle.
WHERE TO VENT: Call the Franklin County Courthouse at 518-483-6768 and insist that officials there comply with District Attorney Derek P. Champagne’s request for a special prosecutor to investigate the case.
