Trump badly underperforming in Virginia’s DC suburbs

Mitt Romney was the GOP nominee best crafted for Northern Virginia, and Donald Trump is the GOP nominee worst crafted for the region. But Trump isn’t simply underperforming Romney, he’s doing much worse.

With 69 percent of precincts in, Trump has won 30 percent of Fairfax County, compared to the 40 percent that Romney won. Romney lost Virginia four years ago. That means that the apparently close race in Virginia might turn into a Clinton domination when the rest of Northern Virginia comes in.
