Donald Trump is making America great again one “Mc” at a time.
The president’s penchant for positioning people with Mc surnames in top posts is, perhaps, the most underreported pattern of his presidency.
From H.R. McMaster to K.T. McFarland to Linda McMahon, Trump has filled several of the most important administration openings with his fellow Americans of Celtic descent.
In addition to McMaster, McFarland and McMahon, there’s White House Counsel Donald McGahn, Deputy Assistant to the President and Cabinet Secretary Bill McGinley, Special Assistant to the President John McEntee and Republican National Committee Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel.
Don’t forget Mrs. McConnell, otherwise known as Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
When asked by the New York Times to comment on his diet, one staff member remarked, “It’s always just whatever he is craving, which is more often than not McDonald’s.”
Whether Trump is able to make America great again is yet to be determined. His plan to McAmerica Great Again, however, is off to an impressive start.
