The Daily Outrage: At least they transplanted our money and not our organs

WHO: U.S. Department of Human Health and ServicesWHAT: Funded the retirement party of Phyllis Weber, longtime CEO of California Transplant Donor Network. The party cost about $19,000, including alcohol, dancers and transportation.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The $19,000 was only a portion of $167,064 in misspent funds reported by the HHS inspector general. Moreover, the money was intended for organ transplants.
