A man in Dallas who has tested positive for Ebola was seen vomiting outside his apartment complex Sunday morning before first responders arrived to transport him to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to USA Today.
The ambulance that transported the patient, a Liberian man named Thomas Eric Duncan, is still under quarantine by order of Dallas officials.
Ebola is spread through direct contact with bodily fluids, which raises questions about who, exactly, cleaned up Duncan’s vomit and whether proper procedures for dealing with fluids infected with Ebola were followed.
This is Duncan’s second hospital visit since arriving in the U.S. from Liberia in late September, the first visit resulting in him being given a batch of antibiotics and being sent on his way.
The apartment complex where first-responders arrived to transport Duncan has not been put under quarantine.
