The good and bad

BRIGHT BULB A fitting initiative

The University of Maryland Medical Center developed a 12-week program to encourage Marylanders to walk 10,000 steps a day with a pedometer. Yes, that’s about 5 miles, but it’s good for your heart — and your waistline. A pedometer and one month gym membership come with the $12 fee. Sign up at getfitmaryland.org.

OUTRAGE: Ravens roadkill

WHO: The Baltimore Ravens

WHAT: They didn’t even give the Indianapolis Colts a run for their money. The Colts played a great game and we just sat there and took it to the tune of a 28-point loss.

WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA: This is the team that left us in the middle of the night. If we’re going to beat anyone this year, it should have been the Colts. They should be the team motivating our players to get up in the morning. The way the Ravens played, maybe they should have just stayed in bed.

WHY THEY ARE DOING IT: Up till now, the Colts record looked a lot like ours: Bad. But at least they did something about it.
